Bianca Elizalde realizes healthy bakery dream

Organic living advocate and wife to broadcasting heir Bilyonaryo Juan Elizalde, Bianca Elizalde recently added another feather on her cap as she launched ?The Wholesome Bakery,? a line of ?gluten-free, refined sugar-free, sometimes vegan baked goods.?

On her Instagram post, the Araneta beauty recounted how she was quietly conceptualizing, developing, taste testing and constructing her new business endeavour while going through with her 2016 ?monumental milestones? with the birth of daughter Semira last September and her eldest, Isabeli?s theatre debut. She even elaborated how she came to terms with her baking background and her journey towards healthier living.

?My passion for cakes and cookies runs deep and I’m almost embarrassed to admit it, but sugar was in my blood. But all this feels like another lifetime. After discovering (by accident almost) that I was severely intolerant to gluten almost 2 years ago, I stopped baking. Then I looked deeper into my health, and I quit sugar too. Surprisingly, given how incredible I felt soon after, I never once regretted my choice.
But I did miss the cakes and pastries and the joy it brought me.?

Available in all branches of The Wholesome Table restaurant, Elizalde proudly attested that her bakery is something her ?ridiculously health-conscious self is not guilty of calling my own.? #

As if I needed another monumental milestone to add to my year, but in between being pregnant, and giving birth, and physically being with, and supporting my eldest as she rehearsed and made her theater debut, I quietly put together a new concept I've been aching to do for so long. Many people don't know it, but I have a background in baking. My passion for cakes and cookies runs deep and I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but sugar was in my blood. I used to dream up recipes and spend days (and everything in my wallet!) recreating pastries the way I imagined they should taste. I used birthday parties, Easter, Christmas as the perfect excuse to bake batches of cupcakes in all flavors and my kitchen always smelled like butter and cookie batter. But I did miss the cakes and pastries and the joy it brought me. And after many, many months of product development, taste testings, going back and forth with recipes with a few failures here and there–not to mention, construction–I am finally….(FINALLY!!) ready to launch my newest endeavor, The Wholesome Bakery! A line of gluten free, refined sugar free, sometimes vegan baked goods that are actually really, really good. And not in the "good for gluten free" sort of way. But, GOOD. Incredibly delicious! Given that I've tried every gluten free pastry I could get my mouth on while I was in the US, I'm pretty darn proud of what we've created here. Finally, a bakery! A bakery my ridiculously health-conscious self is not guilty of calling my own! Hope you all could come support The Wholesome Bakery. Available in all branches of The Wholesome Table starting tomorrow!!
