PAL lays out P20B expansion plans for NAIA terminal 2
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines is proposing to build a modern passenger terminal adjacent to its current hub at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminal 2 to better serve the needs of the traveling public.
PAL president Jaime J. Bautista said the proposed annex building, which will rise on a 16-hectare property covering the now defunct Philippine Village Hotel, the former Nayong Pilipino complex, and a property owned by the Philippine Amusement & Gaming Corp., would accommodate as much as 15 million passengers per year.
The new terminal would also be able to accommodate 12 to 17 wide-bodied and single aisle jets.
Plans also include the construction of a multi-level parking for 1,000 vehicles, a new cargo terminal, and ground facilities.
Bautista expects construction of the new terminal to begin by December 2020 with completion targeted for July 2021.
