Pru Life taps Singapore-based wealth manager for new dollar fund

This life insurer wants Filipinos to bring their investments outside the Philippines.

Pru Life UK has tapped the services of its sister firm Eastspring Investments to administer its new PRUlink Asian Balanced Fund, a new investment tool that comes in the US dollar.

Eastspring manages a $170-billion portfolio as of June 2017.

The new platform allows clients to invest in both bonds and equities from other Asian markets, and are offered to those with “moderate risk appetites,” according to Pru Life UK President and Chief Executive Officer Antonio De Rosas.

The balanced fund “allows investors to gain investment access in both developed and emerging Asia Pacific economies,” the global insurer said in a statement, noting that the new investment product will be available starting Tuesday, Oct. 10.
