Japanese aid for Metro Manila Subway plan to be approved soon – DOF
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe could bring the good news as he visits Manila this November.
The Department of Finance said funding for the $7.06 billion Metro Manila Subway-Phase I could soon be a done deal, with the agency expecting the official papers from the Government of Japan anytime soon.
In fact, the Japanese leader could be bringing the formal pledge with him as he flies to Manila for the 31st Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this month.
By then, diplomatic documents could also be exchanged between the two nations, which would turn the plans into reality.
Papers for the $197-million Cavite Industrial Area Flood Risk Management Project and the $4.27 billion Malolos-Clark Railway are also coming, the agency said, with these three priority projects to be supported by Japanese aid.
