Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has inched closer to its goal of reaching four-star status by 2018 with the arrival of its ninth and tenth Boeing 777, world’s largest long-range twin-engine jetliner.

In a statement on Friday, PAL said its ninth Boeing 777-300ER was delivered recently which would used mainly for routes from Manila to North America.

PAL’s 10th 777 is expected to follow in a few days, bringing the carrier’s fleet count to 88 (mostly Airbus planes).
