Ambassador Sung Kim visits US-funded road project in Samar
It’s a “proud moment” for this diplomat.
Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III chaperoned United States Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim to Guiuan, Eastern Samar as he visited a road and bridge project funded by an American aid agency.
Kim and Dominguez check out the road network spanning 222.23 kilometers and 61 bridges built around the province using a $222.5 million grant for the US, which have all been completed in September 2016.
The funding came from US’ Millennium Challenge Corporation, which links Paranas, Samar to the northern and eastern parts of the region.
“Please send back the message that your help is much appreciated by not only the national government and the local government but the local citizens as well in this area,” Dominguez told Kim.
It turns out that help from the US is still very much wanted by the Duterte administration.
