BSP, DepEd, BDO join forces for financial literacy for teachers

 

Teachers about to get schooled on money matters.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Department of Education, and BDO Foundation are combining their resources to launch a financial literacy campaign starting with public school teachers.

As they get the hang of it, these teachers are also expected to lay down financial education sessions to their students under the K-12 curriculum.

“These learning tools are targeted to reach around 700,000 teachers and non-teaching personnel, and 24 million students in more than 47,000 public schools nationwide,” the BSP said in a statement.

The agenda is get more people to use banks and other formal financial avenues.
