Uh-oh! Peso ends fresh 12-year low at P53.27:$1

The currency is sustaining its slump.

The peso ended the shortened week at P53.27 versus the US dollar, marking another 12-year low.

The local currency already breached the P53 level on Wednesday, June 13 but proceeded to weaken further the following day. It even touched P53.37 to the greenback before settling 10 centavos down by market close.

This means that foreign travelers will have to shell out more due to currency losses.
