Find out what RSA learned from FEU
Bilyonaryo Ramon S. Ang credits his being a working student at the Far Eastern University (FEU) for giving him the life tools he needed to lead one of the biggest conglomerates in the country.
“FEU has taught me well. FEU made me what I am today,” said Ang in a speech during the 90th General Commencement Exercises on Wednesday, June 27 at the Philippine International Convention Center.
Ang, who graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, said: “”Looking back, being a working student helped me become more equipped in dealing with people from all walks of life.”
“One of the reasons for my accomplishments is because of my ability to read people and situations. I am able to adapt. I make tough decisions based on gut instinct. My character has been molded by this school and I am proud of the contribution I have made to society,” he said.
During the ceremony, Ang was honored with the degree of Doctor of Business Engineering Honoris Causa for embodying the FEU core values of fortitude, excellence, and uprightness.
“I never imagined that one day, I would be accepting a doctorate from my alma mater. I am truly honored,” said Ang who was called “a man of excellence, patriot, an outstanding alumni? by FEU president Dr. Michael Alba.
Among FEU’s top alumni are Supreme Court Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban, Henry Sy of SM Group , Lucio Tan of Philippine Airlines, Alfonso Yuchengco of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. and Ramon Sy of Asia United Bank.
