PLDT denies call center endo
Contrary to reports, it was actually the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) who stopped the service providers from doing business with them.
Manny Pangilinan’s PLDT spoke up to deny claims that the telecommunications firm has terminated work contracts for call center employees.
In a statement published on Facebook, PLDT said it was actually the government agency which ordered 38 service contract providers “to cease and desist from providing services to PLDT.”
“While PLDT and the affected contractors await judicial relief from the CA (Court of Appeals), PLDT continues to carry out an orderly and effective intake process in response to the DOLE Order. This process involves the proper identification of individuals named in the DOLE Order and establishing their respective qualifications and fitness for work,” the company said.
DOLE named PLDT with the third largest number of contractual eployees at 8,310.
Already, PLDT is bearing the brunt of the so-called terminations as their customer service hotlines are nearly unmanned.
