Alfred Ty scoops up P349M worth of Metrobank shares


Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. disclosed that Alfred Ty, one of its directors and and son of the bank?s founder George S.K. Ty, acquired five million additional shares.

The shares were purchased at P69.80 apiece for about P349 million on July 9.

Ty is vice-president of Ty-led conglomerate GT Capital Holdings and Toyota Motor Philippines.

The purchase is seen as a vote of confidence during a period of sell-offs.

Metrobank closed 1.14 percent lower Friday at P69.50 each share.
