New Taiwanese bank opens in Manila

 

There’s a new player in town.

Taiwan’s Chang Hwa Commercial Bank, Ltd. has formally started its operations in the Philippines after opening its Manila branch on Monday, July 9.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) made the announcement in a circular letter signed by Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonacier.

The bank registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Jan. 31, 2018 and secured a certificate for operations from the BSP on June 13.
