DOF to file cases over P11-B new tax credit scam

This tax credit scam has stretched on until 2014.

The Department of Finance (DOF) has uncovered that a new batch of invalid tax credit certificates have been awarded from 2008 to 2014 even if companies don’t deserve it.

In a statement, Secretary Carlos Dominguez III said the agency will file court cases against public officials and private businessmen who have “unduly benefited” and received P11.18 billion to non-existent textile companies between 2008-2014.

?Expect this Department to pursue the appropriate ?charges against the public officers and private persons who manipulated and unjustly benefited from the tax credit process with the OSS,? Dominguez said on Friday.

The DOF also created a task force following the findings of the Commission on Audit on such anomalies.
