Duterte names new Customs deputy commissioner to replace ‘jetsetter’ Prudente

President Rodrigo Duterte has found a replacement months after the grand sacking.

Jeffrey Ian Cardano Dy has been named as the new deputy commissioner for the Management Information Systems Technology Group (MISTG) of the Bureau of Customs.

Malaca?ang made the announcement on Monday, Aug. 13 although the appointment papers were signed Aug. 9.

Dy replaces ex-Deputy Commissioner Noel Patrick Prudente who was fired in a grand manner by Duterte last May, with the announcement made in front of his colleagues in the bureau. He reportedly had excessive personal travels abroad.

Dy served as officer-in-charge of the MISTG before his formal appointment.
