Sweet deal: Dennis Uy takes slice of Conti’s resto

This tycoon taking double time in building a new diversified empire.

Davao-based businessman Dennis Uy remains aggressive as ever in expanding his company and has now ventured into the restaurant business.

Reports say that Uy will acquire a 70 percent stake in the popular chain Conti’s Bakeshop and Restaurant through Udenna Corp.

Conti’s specializes in cakes and baked goods as well as Filipino dishes, and is often seen in big shopping malls.

Uy’s empire has grown substantially over the last two years, just as when the country went under the watch of his kababayan, former Davao City Mayor now President Rodrigo Duterte.

Uy’s businesses include fuel via Phoenix Petroleum, shipping via Chelsea Logistics, and retail via FamilyMart convenience stores.

It was fairly recently when Uy also bought into Enderun Colleges Inc., a school known for its hospitality and culinary programs. It’s safe to say that this man has a sweet tooth!
