Lopez Group rolls out indoor amusement park


The Lopez family’s ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. recently opened an indoor amusement park in a bid to shore up revenues.

Situated on a 1,400 square meter site at the Trinoma Mall in Quezon City, the pioneering park called Studio XP is a unique themed attraction and experience store.

“We expect it to become one of the key drivers of growth,” said Cookie Bartolome, head of ABS-CBN Themed Experiences.

ABS-CBN aims to leverage on Trinoma Mall’s strong foot traffic.

The company is keen on partnering with other property developers to open more amusement parks in the country.

ABs-CBN is shifting its focus on consumer business to monetize its content beyond just advertising. Its consumer business is generated from subscription, ticketed experiences, and durable goods.

The subscription business, which includes cable and broadband provider SKY and The Filipino Channel, is the largest contributor to the company?s consumer sales.

The ticketed experiences category, which includes movies, concerts, mall events, studio tours and mini-theme park Kidzania, is the second largest consumer business sales contributor.
