PayMaya exec jumps to UnionBank


This bank is really aggressive about its digital strategy.

Union Bank of the Philippines has hired a new executive for its retail business, it announced to the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Joining the Aboitiz-owned bank is Lawrence Ferrer, who will serve as head of Consumer Payments Business at the bank’s Consumer Finance Center.

Ferrer holds rank as first vice president effective Monday, Sept. 17.

Ferrer has jumped ship coming from Manny Pangilinan’s PayMaya Philippines, a company dedicated to providing non-bank financial transactions.
