Manila House president Ricco Ocampo steps down after sushi meltdown
His fine dining stint will forever be marred by this not-so-classy outburst.
Ricco Ocampo has reportedly stepped down as president and director of the Manila House Private Club where some of the country?s elite hang out.
Philippine Star columnist Victor Agustin said Ocampo had been replaced by Katrina Panlilio-Craig for reasons distinct from his recently publicized meltdown after a guest from Sunlife of Canada complained about the miniscule size of fish served during dinner.
The videotaped altercation, which took place in June, only came out on social media last week.
There, Ocampo was caught cussing at a woman who expressed dissatisfaction over a smaller-than-expected serving of salmon.
?Pay the f***ing bill or you go to jail,? shouted Ocampo as the Manila House security team struggled to control the situation.
Former interior secretary Rafael Alunan III shared the infamous video clip on his Facebook account, illiciting an uproar from his followers who felt that the lady was treated unfairly.
The woman, it turned out, was Inah Fuentes, head for Strategic Planning at Sunlife. She was pointing out how they were served a big fillet during food tasting but were only given a smaller chunk during the main event.
If you’re working in the hospitality industry, am pretty sure you’ve heard the age-old rule that “the customer is always right”. And that establishments must make sure that guests feel cared for or they lose them.
