Sisihin niyo Villar, Tugade! Duterte says infrastructure delays are solely due to his economic managers
President Rodrigo Duterte says he has nothing to do with the inordinate delays in the implementation of road, bridge and transportation projects under his administration.
In a speech, Duterte said he has nothing to do with infrastructure that he has left entirely to his Cabinet.
?Of course, may mga delay-delay diyan. Pero if you talk about the delays diyan, I cannot answer you. You have to call the Cabinet members. Because I don?t really do nothing. I just keep track of the progress na kailan ba ito matapos,? said Duterte.
Public Works Secretary Mark Villar and Transportation Secretary Art Tugade are the most notorious among Cabinet members for their ineptitude in implementing government projects.
The Commission on Audit said that 2,334 projects worth P62.58 billion of the Department of Public Works and Highways did not get off the drawing board in 2017 while 135 others worth P6 billion were placed in the back burner.
COA also red flagged the Department of Transportation for implementing only a measly six out of its 159 projects scheduled in 2017.
