Inflation worst in Bicol at 10.1%

Is it because the prices of the siling labuyo are at a record high?

Inflation went faster in September at 6.7 percent coming from 6.4 percent the prior month, the government announced on Friday, Oct. 5.

Prices were higher in the provinces at 6.8 percent versus Metro Manila’s 6.3 percent rate. However, some regions had it worse.

The Philippine Statistics Authority reported that inflation was the worst in Bicol at 10.1 percent, with food prices there up by a whopping 14.6 percent.
