Galing Recto! Henann fakes ECC of Boracay resort
Criminal charges may soon be filed against the Henann Group of Resorts for faking the environmental compliance certificate (ECC) of its Boracay resort.
Bilyonaryo obtained a copy of the fake ECC made by Henry Chusuey-owned company for the Henann Garden Resort on the day of Boracay’s soft opening.
The document, issued October 8, bore the signature of Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 6 Director Sophie Manuel.
According to the fake ECC, Henann was found compliant with environmental laws such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and the Solid Waste Management Act.
“The above establishment is hereby recommended for the lifting of the suspension of the ECC and for the issuance of the above permits and clearances,” the document read.
The ECC was supposedly issued upon the request of Seraph Management Group Assistant to the President Errol Ledesma.
Henann Garden Resort is not among the 68 accommodation establishments that have been accredited by the Department of Tourism to operate when the island is reopened to tourists starting October 26.
