Robinsons Retail?s nine-month profit up 10%

 

Bilyonaryo John Gokongwei?s Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. grew its net income in the first nine months by 9.8 percent to P3.8 billion on higher sales.

In a statement, RRHI said net sales expanded by 13.1 percent to P91.82 billion, driven by robust same store sales growth across all formats and the sales contribution of new stores.

Same store sales growth grew 6.6 percent or above target. The supermarket segment contributed 46.5 percent to consolidated net sales.

Operating income went up 10.2 percent to P4.65 billion.

For the third quarter alone, RRHI reported flat earnings at P1.21 billion

Excluding franchised branches of The Generics Pharmacy, Robinsons Retail ended the third quarter with a total store count of 1,778, comprising of 158 supermarkets, 51 department stores, 206 DIY stores, 496 convenience stores, 499 drugstores and 368 specialty stores.

Gross floor area increased by nine percent to about 1.2 million square meters.
