Is Eugene Acevedo the next RCBC president?
Will he be succeeding the outgoing president?
The banking industry is indeed a tightly-knit circle, and any movement among top officials is likely to generate buzz.
Such is the case for Eugene Acevedo, who recently resigned from the Union Bank of the Philippines as Chief Mass Market & Financial Inclusion Executive.
One might think that Acevedo is making good money with his rank of Senior Executive Vice President, but what will make him go?
The Inquirer’s BizBuzz column said he may be preparing to step up as president of the rival lender, the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC).
Incumbent RCBC president Gil Buenaventura is reportedly on his way out after a three-year contract which ends mid-2019. Is Acevedo the next in line?
RCBC, however, denied the report with this disclosure: “There are no official changes to Senior Management other than those already disclosed. Any information other than those disclosed by the Bank is purely speculative.”
