Businessman accused of sexual harassment by Miss Earth candidates

Three candidates of Miss Earth 2018 came forward with allegations against a certain Amado Cruz, who they claimed asked for sexual favors in exchange for the much-coveted crown.

In their respective social media accounts, the three candidates detailed their accounts of being groped by the businessman during the Miss Earth 2018 coronation night in Manila.

Miss Earth Guam Emma Mae Sheedy alleged that Cruz grabbed her butt during the National Costume competition.

Miss Earth-Canada Jaime Yvonne Vandenberg and Miss Earth-England Abbey-Anne Gyles-Brown said Cruz made sexual advances on them during the events held at the Manila Yacht Club.

Cruz sits as president and CEO of Offshore Construction & Development Co. as well as transport firm New Qualitrans Inc. He is apparently a long-time sponsor of pageant events.

He has been banned indefinitely by the Miss Earth organization following allegations of sexual misconduct.
