ABS-CBN rolls out digital TV service in Batangas

Lopez-led ABS-CBN Corp. has expanded its digital terrestrial television (DTT) service to Batangas as part of efforts to reach a wider market.

With the ABS-CBN TVplus box, residents in Batangas can now enjoy clear picture, crisp sound, exclusive channels, and an affordable pay-per-view service with no monthly fees.

Apart from Batangas, the ABS-CBN TVplus box is also available in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Rizal, Laguna, Pampanga, Tarlac, Benguet, Cavite, Metro Cebu, Cagayan De Oro, Iloilo, Bacolod, and Davao.

The ABS-CBN TVplus box is available for a one-time payment fee of P1,499.

As of the end of October, ABS-CBN sold 6.2 million TVPlus boxes.

Since its launch in 2015, the ABS-CBN TVplus box has driven up the digital penetration in non-cabled homes in Metro Manila (71.6 percent in August 2018 from 55 percent in August 2017, Mega Manila (64.7 percent in August 2018 from 44 percent in August 2017), and in the suburbs (57 percent in August 2018 from 33 percent in August 2017).

ABS-CBN is the first media and entertainment company in the country to make the historic switch from analog to digital terrestrial television.
