#DearGeorgeTy: Metrobank honors founder

This is the bank’s way of saying goodbye and thank you.

The Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Metrobank) whipped up a simple but endearing farewell to their “visionary founder” George S.K. Ty who died on Nov. 23, 2018. He was 86.

In a Facebook post, Metrobank relived the long tale of the bilyonaryo and philantropist who built the banking giant from scratch back in 1962.

“For him, business was more than just about making money, it was about trust and relationships. He lived by an unwavering set of principles in all aspects of his life. Dr. Ty’s legacy of business leadership is now in the hands of the next generation,” the bank said.

“We will honor his memory by committing to keep all our customers and stakeholders in good hands. On behalf of the Officers and Staff of the Metrobank Group, thank you and God speed our beloved Group Chairman.”

It’s the end of an era here.
