Don’t be fooled! BDO warns vs Christmas fraudsters

Give away presents, not your account data.

BDO Unibank, Inc. stepped up its information campaign to warn account holders against thieves who are out to take advantage of the holiday cheer.

The bank owned by bilyonaryo Henry Sy issued a warning versus fraudsters out to steal personal data to hack into BDO accounts. This is their response to a growing number of complaints that some depositors are getting calls from unknown numbers pretending to be from bank management.

“There were reports that unauthorized people have been asking clients to give their one time password, PIN, internet banking ID password, bank account no., credit card account no., and other confidential information,” the bank said as it warned people not to disclose crucial information like one-time passwords and PINs over the phone or to any other person.

”Change your password by logging in to BDO Personal Online Banking as soon as possible if you think that you may have responded to a suspicious e-mail,” BDO said.

Better to take these warnings to heart!
