
SWS: 41% of Pinoys surf the web
Millennials dominated the pack.
A recent survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) proved yet again how fast Filipinos are picking up in terms of Intenet usage.
In its third quarter survey, SWS revealed that Internet use totaled 44 percent across the nation, but the biggest share was recorded in Metro Manila. According to the poll, 54 percent of urban dwellers surf the web.
By location, 64 percent of Metro Manila residents use the Internet versus 47 percent in Luzon, 37 percent in Visayas, and 27 percent of people in Mindanao.
Among age groups, a whopping 81 percent of those between 18-24 years old use the web, versus a low of 12 percent among those 55 or older.
Across wealth groups, 55 percent of those in the ABC class use the web, compred to 43 percent among class D and 28 percent from class E.
