Pernia saysa SEA Games hosting will boost PH economy
It’s a worthy investment to make.
Secretary Ernesto Pernia of the National Economic and Development Authority said the country has more to gain from hosting the Southeast Asian Games in 2019, even if it required the government to spend billions just to build new facilities in a rush.
The SEA Games will be held in various parts of the Philippines next year. In preparation, the government had to quickly build a new stadium and aquasports facility in New Clark City even before other developments were made.
“The Philippines’ hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games is also something to look forward to in 2019. We expect a livelier tourism sector next year as a result,” Pernia said in a speech.
