Dennis Uy likely to be in the next Forbes richest list

This man really saw his empire zoom ahead under the Duterte administration.

Businessman Dennis Uy will surely make it to next year’s elite list of richest people published by Forbes magazine — according to Philippine Star columnist Victor Agustin, at least.

In his Money-Go-Round column, Agustin said Uy’s empire has sprung to be among the big businesses in the country, with his upcoming venture as the third telco player sure to propel his net worth even further.

“Uy now has five listed companies under his belt, with a combined market valuation of about P145 billion, and still climbing. Even on the unsupported assumption that he personally controls only half of that growing pie, that half is still safely within the billion-dollar territory,” Agustin said.

Uy controls Udenna Corp., Chelsea Logistics, and Phoenix Petroleum, among other businesses in the Philippines.
