Duplex, townhouse prices surge in Q3 2018


Property values leaped during the third quarter.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said home prices rose across the board in July-September 2018 compared to a year ago.

Costs to buy new homes rose by 4.4 percent on average, although some properties saw bigger price jumps than others.

Duplex units saw the biggest increase at 30.7 percent year-on-year, coming from a price drop in the third quarter of 2017. Meanwhile, townhouses were also priced 18.3 percent higher.

Posting modest increases are condominium units, with prices up by 5.8 percent; and single detached or attached houses which climbed marginally by 0.2 percent nationwide.
