Meralco slashes electricity rates in January

 

Electricity rates are set to decline by P0.3418 per kilowatt hour to P9.8385 this month, largely due to the lower cost of power.

Manila Electric Co. said this would translate to a decrease of P68 in the total bill of a typical household consuming 200 kilowatts per hour.

Generation charges fell by P0.4184 per kWh to P4.9119 per kWh in December as a result of lower charges from power supply agreements.

Meralco said there was a decline of P1.2293 per kWh in the cost of power from PSAs.

The powet utility giant sources cm 40 percent of its power requirements from PSAs.
