Em Aglipay Villar talks about #ladyboss challenges
For the wife of bilyonaryo Mark Villar, women are like superheroes as they overcome hurdles in a man’s world.
“I’ve always known exactly what I want and I do not settle for anything less. In working towards my goals, I never take no for an answer and I make things happen—no excuses. People who I have worked with know this. However, being a lady boss has its downside. When a man is assertive, ambitious and knows exactly what he wants, he is admired. But when it is a woman who is the same, she’s bossy and sometimes even a bitch. So it takes a delicate balance of strength, grace, intelligence, charm, guts, ingenuity, resilience and sheer spunk for woman to thrive in a man’s world. You have to be willing to work twice as hard and at the same time be judged as being a bad mom or wife for not devoting your entire time for your family. But for a woman to thrive in a man’s world and at the same time be an involved mom and wife—this is a superhuman ability. Women are superheroes! If we can do this—we can certainly change the world for the better. I have learned that the world does not change for women — it is women that must change the world. Women looking beyond personalities and short term benefit, women looking at what the next generation ought to have, what our mother’s generation taught us to be important. Women not just standing in solidarity but acting in solidarity, across generations, across party lines. Let us build a better world, together—women for women! Happy international women’s day! #internationalwomensday” @emaglipayvillar said.
