Maynilad lends expertise to water executives in Indonesia
These newbies sought help from the Philippines’ west zone concessionaire.
Maynilad Water Services Inc., a unit of Manuel Pangilinan-led infrastructure conglomerate Metro Pacific Investments Corp., sent some of its staff to Indonesia to provide technical expertise on how to run a water utility firm.
Officials of the City Government of Singkawang and the Singkawang Water Utility Company in Indonesia sat down with executives of Maynilad Water Academy to learn about water loss management, through a deal brokered by the Asian Development Bank.
In 2017, Maynilad was granted a 25-year exclusive concession to operate and invest in the water and sewerage systems in the cities of Manila, Quezon City, Makati, Caloocan, Pasay, Paranaque, Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon as well as some cities of Cavite.
