Citibank partners with Grab to launch co-branded credit cards
Citigroup has teamed up with Singapore-based ride-hailing giant Grab to introduce an exclusive co-branded credit card across Southeast Asia as part of efforts to boost its customer base.
The Citi Grab credit card was first launched in the Philippines. It will be rolled out in Thailand in the second half.
Grab will offer its users benefits and rewards and extend its offering to Citi’s cardholders in the Philippines.
“Citi has been a long-term partner since 2016 and there is great synergy between both Citi and Grab. The Citi Grab credit card is a natural next step as we create more value for our digital first, always in GrabPay users.” said Huey Tyng Ooi, managing director of GrayPay Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.
“This will bring us one step further in realizing our vision of becoming the leasing everyday super app in (Southeast Asia),” she said.
The co-brand card partnership expands an ongoing collaboration that dates back to 2016, which allows Citi cardholders to use their earned points and miles to pay for rides on the Grab platform.
